Nashville season 6 episode 16 (series finale) spoilers: Curtain call
Nashville season 6 episode 16 is obviously so much more than just your average episode of the series: It’s also the final one. It’s the series finale, and a story that really has been in the works for a rather long time now. “Beyond the Sunset” is the title for the episode, and the challenge here is clearly about trying to figure out if it is at all possible to wrap up all of the different stories over just one hour. We’ve got to find happiness for Deacon, peace for Juliette, and hopefully and opportunity to see some sort of closure to all of these stories centered around the ever-disgusting Brad.
Below, the Nashville season 6 episode 16 synopsis does give you a little bit more news on the story that is going to be coming up:
Deacon gets a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream. Juliette makes a crucial decision. Daphne preps for the final round. Alannah confronts Brad. Avery, Gunnar, and Will discuss their future.
If we had it our way with some of these stories, we would focus a good 85% of the hour on everything related to Deacon, his family, and Juliette. While we appreciate some of the other stories, it’s really Rayna and Juliette that were the focal point of the early days of the show. Deacon’s the closest extension to her, so we really would like to see the show somewhat return to its roots before everything starts to wrap up.
Beyond this finale, everything will probably just be left up to the imagination. We don’t get a sense that there is some sort of revival is coming, so we’ll just have to take the series finale as the final curtain. Hopefully, everyone has some closure … but we don’t expect too much given that life does inevitably have to go on.
