The Originals season 5 video: Joseph Morgan, cast give thanks

The Originals

There are only a few episodes remaining of The Originals season 5, and the series as a whole. Before getting into those, the cast does have a message that they want to pass along.

In the video below (via TV Guide), you can see messages featuring Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and the majority of the rest of the cast and crew as they do their best to extend their thanks for sticking with the show and being such a part of it over the years. The Originals fandom is among one of TV’s best in that they care deeply for these characters and they at times even saw the good in them when few others did. They started off as a rogues’ gallery of villains and, in the end, they evolved into real people. The writers deserve credit for that, but so does the cast for their devotion. People like Morgan, Gillies, and Charles Michael Davis have been regulars from the beginning and they deserve a lot of credit for anchoring the ship. They’ve understood what fans want and worked their hardest in order to give it to them.

There’s probably going to be an interesting juxtaposition between this video and what we are probably going to see over the course of the final episodes, mostly because the final stretch is likely going to be some sort of bloodbath. We are expecting a great deal of chaos from start to finish, especially since we are eventually building towards another spin-off series in Legacies and, at the moment, there is no evidence as to if any characters from The Originals will be in it other than Hope. Much of this is probably going to depend on whatever happens over the series finale.
