Blindspot season 4 spoilers: Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio to play mystery role
Per a report from TVLine, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (who has appeared recently on Limitless, Hostages, Grimm, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent) is going to be a recurring presence throughout the upcoming season of the NBC show. However, at the moment the folks behind the scenes are keeping the finer details under wraps.
Why do that? There are a number of different reasons for it, starting with the fact that Blindspot is a show that relies heavily on plot twists. If this role gets put out there too soon, it may tip some people off as to what the upcoming story is going to be like … and we certainly know that there are plenty of people out there who wouldn’t want that from a production point of view.
Beyond just this, we do also think that there is just merit in not telling too much about anything right now because we’re still so far until season 4 premieres. While there has already been some work done on season 4 in Tokyo, at the moment there is still so much more to do. Getting out too much news too early effectively makes it that much harder for NBC to properly promote the series. The best thing that we can all do, with that in mind, is more or less stay out of the way and let more promotion happen as soon as the network gets around to it. Our feeling is that come September, there may be some more promotion then for whatever is going to be coming up next.
Also, we should note that this is probably not the last bit of casting news that is going to come out. More than likely, there are going to be some other reveals on the horizon.
