Chicago PD season 6 spotlight: Adam Ruzek’s possible future
One of the things that we really like about Patrick John Flueger’s character on the NBC series is that he’s a completely different sort of guy than anyone else. He’s got a soft, caring side to him, but he’s also a little bit of a rebel. He’s fiercely protective of the people he cares about, even to the point that he’ll almost always find a way to escape the toughest situations possible. A great example of that can be found in season 5, where he did everything that he could to work his way around being used by Woods in his attempts to stop Voight. We’ve seen him suffer through time as a double agent and survive some harrowing undercover work. He’s been through a lot, so where do we want to see the series go from here? Let’s just say we’ve got a few different suggestions.
1. Is a change of partnership in order? – One of the things we’re most curious about is how Intelligence shakes out in the wake of Olinsky’s death. Does Ruzek work more with Burgess now, or does he slide over and do more work directly alongside Voight? Could we continue to see him work a lot with Atwater? The hierarchy of Intelligence itself is likely going to change.
2. What’s happening when it comes to Ruzek and Voight? – Are these guys going to find a way to get on the same page together again? We do think that Hank understood why he contemplated selling him out to Woods, mostly because the high pressure Adam was under. Yet, it’s also fair to question whether or not the two of them are ever going to be on the same page again.
3. More substantial crossover material – Ruzek hasn’t had as much in the way of an obvious connection to other One Chicago shows as Jay Halstead or Antonio Dawson. Yet, we do think it’d be rather fun to see him work alongside some of the guys over at Firehouse 51 for a case. Mixing around the chemistry a little bit often works for a good episode or two.
4. Some movement, finally, on Burzek – Something has to happen here eventually, especially since we’re entering season 6 and there wasn’t too much development in season 5. Either the relationship happens or it doesn’t, and we’d just like to see the writers commit one way or another. Of course, we’re personally pro-Burzek so we do our best to throw that out there.

I would like to see Adam Ruzek do more crossover material. Maybe him doing more episodes of Chicago Fire and also some episodes of chicago med.
