When is Scream season 3 premiering? Possibly this year
What happened? The simple explanation there is that there are everything from scheduling and content reasons why the network is being so cagey on giving you more of the series. This is a teen drama with a lot of violent subject material in it, especially when it comes to being set around a school. There are some obvious concerns that go along with that in a climate where we have seen school shootings already this year. This is what caused the Paramount Network to scrap their reboot of Heathers altogether, and what caused a lot of concern when it comes to the second season of 13 Reasons Why.
According to TVLine, MTV has not abandoned their plans to air the series, which should at least be a source of some hope for people out there. However, it may not be until later this year, and even with that, we’ve already seen so much flux when it comes to scheduling with this show that we’re rather cagey to be excited about anything. We don’t want anyone get their hopes up too much just because there’s still not a heck of a lot of evidence out there that the show will be coming soon. There’s isn’t really any promotion around it at all.
Back when season 3 was actually ordered, we did think of it at the time as a rather-surprising order. After all, the second season didn’t perform all that well and at this point especially, the Scream movie franchise is so far on the back-burner it is probably not something that a lot of people out there are thinking all that much about.
