Criminal Minds season 14 to run at least 15 episodes

Criminal Minds season 13

How many episodes will Criminal Minds season 14 run for? That’s been a topic of discussion for some time, but we’re now starting to get a little more insight on this subject.

In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Harry Bring confirmed that there are going to be, at least, 15 episodes for the upcoming batch of episodes. If that sticks around this order, it will mark the shortest season that the series has done. Even back during the writers strike in the 2007-08 season, we ended up getting a season of around 20 episodes.

Now that this episode order could change for a wide array of different factors, whether it be different scheduling needs for CBS or the performance of some of the other shows on the schedule. Or, if Criminal Minds manages to improve its ratings year-to-year, there is a chance CBS could just want more of it. We’ve seen episode orders fluctuate enough over time that we are very much aware that things could change here in the weeks ahead — as a matter of fact, it feels like there’s a pretty good chance that they will in this case.

Bring also noted recently that the new season of the show will premiere on Wednesday, September 26 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Given that there are many months to go until we get around to this point, there is a reasonably good chance that there could be some more news on the subject to report before too long. We know that with the premiere episode alone, there’s going to be a lot to unravel when it comes to the big cliffhanger.
