Did Blindspot season 4 film in Japan? Early speculation
As you can see in a post on Twitter via Ennis Esmer (see below), he was clearly doing a little bit of work tied to the show while in Tokyo. Meanwhile, some other cast members were confirmed to be in the city as well. We know that Blindspot does like to find a way to do some international filming for this show — it did this back in season 3 with Venice, so why not keep the tradition going in season 4 with an adventure in Japan? It’s an exciting prospect, and it’s really not something that you see a lot of other network shows do. For starters, it’s pretty expensive to go overseas; beyond that, it also adds a lot of production time onto what is already a pretty lengthy period of time that most shows spend in production.
For the sake of this show with its global reach, it is absolutely worth it.
No matter what Blindspot is doing halfway around the world, it does feel fairly clear that we are gearing up for one of the biggest seasons that we’ve had a chance to see just yet for a lot of different reasons. For starters, we’ve got everything that happened with Remi’s return in the finale, and with that Jaimie Alexander is going to have a chance to deliver a very different sort of performance. Beyond that, the dynamics with Weller and some of the other main members of the cast are going to be very much different than they once were.
Blindspot is not going to premiere on NBC until October (be sure to see the full fall schedule for the network to see the premiere date), but we absolutely do think that there is a lot of great stuff to look forward to.
