The Resident season 2 character spotlight: what could be ahead for Dr. Devon Pravesh?
When we first met him, it was his first day as a first-year resident assigned to work on Dr. Conrad Hawkins. Devon quickly realizes that Conrad is different from all other residents and after getting past Conrad’s unique personality, Devon comes to recognize that he can learn a lot from him. Eventually the two began to trust and rely on each other with Devon even getting involved with Nic’s battle against Dr. Lane Hunter. So heading into season 2, what could ahead for Dr. Devon Pravesh?
A challenge for Devon – During season 1 Devon was learning from his superior, Conrad, and toward the end of the season it was clear that Conrad’s teachings were helping Devon become a great doctor. Devon also became involved in Conrad and Nic’s plan to take down Dr. Lane Hunter. Devon was instrumental in taking her down when his fiancée used her job as a reporter to help further uncover Lane’s malpractice. So for season 2 it would be great to see Devon become involved in his own bureaucracy battle. Conrad has his with Dr. Randolph Bell and Nic had hers with Dr. Lane Hunter, so we want to see Devon become more personal involved. We believe it wouldn’t be an out-of-the-blue storyline because Devon was thrown into the deep end as soon as he was assigned to Conrad. In addition, we believe Devon is morally good person and if faced with wrong doings, he would try and stop it.
His relationship with his fiancée – It was briefly mentioned in Season 1 that Devon was engaged to reporter, Priya Nair. She made a few quick appearances, but that was it. We would like to know a little more about their relationship. We know from the few brief scenes she was in that Devon loves her and that they both support each other’s career paths. However, we want to see more a human aspect to their relationship. It can’t be all love and no battles, that would be incredibly boring. We know that this won’t be a focus point for season 2, but it could be an obstacle for Devon if they were to have some problems.
Conrad and Devon – In the first few episodes of Season 1, we saw many interactions between Conrad and Devon as student and teacher and we want to see more of these during Season 2. Devon and Conrad butted heads sometimes, especially because Conrad thinks outside the box and has alternative ways to help patients. Conrad is an incredibly gifted doctor and can identify illnesses quickly and we enjoy Conrad teaching Devon his unique ways. So we hope the writers get back to that a little.
