Power season 5 video: Omari Hardwick, cast speak out before premiere
In the clip, you can see everyone from Omari Hardwick to Lela Loren to showrunner Courtney A. Kemp speak out about why they enjoy working on the show so much, the passion that Power fans have, and also some of what’s coming up this season. We are gearing up for one of the biggest seasons that we’ve had a chance to see to date. Lives are in jeopardy, after all, both in the physical and the emotional sense.
Going into this season, we’d argue that the #1 thing we’d like to see and understand better is precisely what is going on when it comes to Tasha. At the end of season 4, we saw the character preparing to take the fall in order to ensure that her son Tariq didn’t go down for Ray Ray’s death. In fact, she was willing to go so far as to hire her lover Terry Silver to be her attorney, ending her romantic relationship with him along the way. She’s facing legal trouble this season the likes of which she hasn’t seen before, and a part of what intrigues us here is seeing the parallel between this and the Ghost – prison arc that we had in season 4. How is this different, and how can this shake the story up? As previously reported, one of the most interesting things about this season is seeing the likes of Angela and Tasha as strange bedfellows in the wake of everything that they’ve been through. All of a sudden, they may realize that working together is one of their best ways to have a stable future.
Power is a show that, to date, has relied very much on strong, emotional storytelling and great characters. While the stakes may be higher in season 5 for some, we don’t think the focus has changed and this is, in part, what makes the future exciting.
