Grantchester season 4 spoilers: Outlander alum ‘replacing’ James Norton
Yet, it appears that the show will go on for the ITV series, and with that there’s a new Reverend coming on board. Tom Brittney, who has appeared in multiple episodes of Outlander as Lieutenant Jeremy Foster to go along with such other shows as UnREAL and Casualty, is going to be appearing moving forward as the character of Reverend Will Davenport. He is a crime-solving partner to Robson Green’s character of Geordie Keating. In making sure that Brittney’s character is in the church, it is effectively ensuring that the series stays relatively similar to its original DNA even without having Norton on board. We know that the Sidney actor will appear at some point during the fourth season, but the fact that the series has already cast its replacement likely signifies that you’re not going to see him around for the entirety of it.
Will Grantchester be the same for many viewers out there? Probably not, but it makes some sense for the series to keep going. For starters, it employs many people. Beyond that, there’s also the fact that this show airs all over the world and is enormously successful in many territories. It ultimately just makes so much more sense that the network go this route rather than trying to figure out a way in which to bring a new series on the air. This represents them going in the route that effectively makes the most sense to them.
Hopefully, we’re going to get a chance to see Grantchester season 4 at some point in 2019. Once there is some more news to report on when it comes to the series, we’ll be sure to let you know.
