NCIS: New Orleans season 5 casting new series regular
For now, signs do point towards production working towards putting someone new into the mix this time around. Per a new report coming in via TVLine, the series is currently looking to bring on board a female agent in her thirties, someone who has spent the bulk of her recent career working overseas and is now ready to come home and have a little more of a stable career somewhere. We feel like superficially, there are some comparisons between this character and Nick Torres over on NCIS proper, someone who is transitioning from working in a very specific, high-intensity field and now has an opportunity to work as a part of a team in a more normal environment — or at least one that is normal within the NCIS franchise.
Casting these sort of characters are never easy since more than anything else, the biggest thing that you should want is someone who really just comes out and can excel both with the physical part of the job, but also the emotional. You want someone who feels like a part of the family right away and there needs to be a certain degree of warmth about them in order for this to happen. We’re hoping that the producers take their time over the coming weeks to come up with the right person, especially since ideally this would be a character who sticks around on the series for a rather long time to come.
Remember, NCIS: New Orleans is set to premiere this fall on CBS, and will be back in the same timeslot it once occupied Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
