House of Cards season 6 behind-the-scenes photo: Robin Wright takes center stage
Netflix has released one of the first House of Cards season 6 behind-the-scenes photos, and this one features none other than Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood front and center. It’s a reminder of the show’s new focus, and also a reminder that this is really Claire’s story now.
The headlines surrounding House of Cards over the past eight or nine months have been plentiful, which many of them first starting up with the news of Kevin Spacey’s firing in the midst of sexual misconduct allegations. Wright was given a more prominent role in the eight episode final season, and to go along with that both Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear were each brought in to help round out the cast. Personally, we cannot wait to see what happens with Claire front and center on the show.
As for how the story of House of Cards will end, that’s a very good question now but we hope that it will be both powerful and surprising. A big part of what has long made this show so fascinating is that it doesn’t hold anything back, and we more than imagine that it’s going to continue that trend again this year.
In terms of the premiere date, unfortunately there isn’t all that much in the way of an official announcement just yet — though signs do point towards the final season coming before the end of the year. If Netflix were smart, we almost think that it would be wise to start pushing out and marketing the show towards a launch right around midterms. After all, politics are going to be a hot-button discussion at around then. Why not try to capture that momentum to best of your ability?
