The Arrowverse crossover – Batwoman talk is exciting, but also very early
However, as exciting as this may be, there is still one more thing to keep it mind: We are not actually all that close to a name being announced. At this past Heroes & Villains Fan Fest event, Arrow star Stephen Amell confirmed that he doesn’t know as of yet who is going to be playing the iconic character — yet, he expressed confidence in David Rappaport (the casting director for all of these shows) in finding the right person. He also praised the story for the crossover event by saying that it’s awesome … while also admitting that there’s not very much else he can say.
For the time being, that is enough to have us hyped just on the basis that there will probably not be an official announcement about this for many more weeks — heck, we’d be shocked if a name is announced before San Diego Comic-Con, mostly because that feels like a perfect venue to make some sort of big proclamation. The CW and Warner Bros. TV always go hard in order to ensure that it’s the biggest, most-exciting event possible, and we have a pretty darn good feeling that the same sort of thing is going to happen this year, as well.
Technically, there may not even be a need to announce Batwoman at SDCC, either. Given the timing of production for some of these crossovers, odds are that it will be at least several weeks after that before the team really even starts to get into pre-production on those episodes. It just makes sense to get the name out there earlier than that for the sake of hyping them up.
Obviously, once there is some more news to report on when it comes to this subject, we will have said information for you here. Meanwhile, be sure to like CarterMatt on Facebook for some other information regarding the series right away. (Photo: The CW.)
