Law & Order: SVU season 19 finale video: The foundation of a case, trouble, and more

The Law & Order: SVU season 19 finale is airing on NBC Wednesday night as a two-hour event, and all signs suggest that this is going to be hugely dramatic and intense. With every case that Benson and her team take on there’s a certain degree of urgency; yet, here things are a little more extreme because someone’s life is seemingly on the line. We’re speaking here about a man who finds himself targeted in the midst of a live stream. It may be because of something he did in the past, or at least something that a woman thinks that he did in the past.

You may have seen elements of this story in a sneak peek before now, but the latest one below gives you a sense as to how the case first falls into SVU’s lap. A man shows up at the precinct and shows the stream to Carisi, making it clear how he found the phone and how worried he is that something terrible is going to happen. Unless there are answers and a clear response, it’s pretty clear that something will.

To go along with all of this, it does also seem as though something terrible could happen to a member of SVU by the end of the finale, as well … at least judging from the following succinct (but valuable) tease that show executive producer Michael Chernuchin gave on the subject to TVInsider: “something terrible happens to one of our characters.” Speaks for itself, right? Maybe this is something that better helps to shape the cliffhanger for this season, but one way or another this is definitely something to keep watch about as we prepare to dive into these final episodes of the season.
