What does Young Sheldon finale reveal mean for Sheldon’s children?
So what went into the decision to have this sort of line said at the end of the finale? Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, executive producer Steven Molaro made it clear that a big part of it had to do with the way in which Sheldon’s father is presented on this series as opposed to how he was discussed on The Big Bang Theory in the past:
“I think that some of these stories adult Sheldon is telling us through young Sheldon are reflections on ‘now that I have my own children, maybe I’m seeing that world through my Dad’s eyes more clearly than I had.’ Those thoughts had been on my mind for awhile, and I think that’s what led to that final line of the season.”

Ultimately, what we love so much about this reveal, beyond knowing that Sheldon eventually does become a father, is that it really does give Young Sheldon even more credibility as a series as we start to look more towards the future. It adds that extra incentive to watch in that you’re getting perspective now on two different timelines. It feels almost like you’re getting a vantage point on who Sheldon was decades before we met him, and then also who he will be in the decades that follow.
