Shadowhunters season 3 cast wrap filming in Toronto
Below, you can see some reactions from Matthew Daddario, Katherine McNamara, and Alberto Rosende on the subject of season 3 winding down in Toronto. This means that a well-deserved break is coming for all of the cast while they wait to see if they will be coming back to work later this year. It’s a tradition that many casts and crews have to deal with, just because networks often like to wait and see whether or not the ratings are enough to give a show more episodes. (McNamara makes it clear in her video that she’s hopeful that she will get a chance to do more episodes in the future.)
As for when Shadowhunters season 4 filming could begin, think along the lines of August if the timeline is the same as it was for last year. The writers room could open for season 4 as early as the end of this month — even if there is no official renewal at that time, it’s certainly possible that the writers could go ahead and plan as though there are going to be more episodes. That’s a fairly common practice that we often end up seeing.
We still don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves here, though, mostly because there is still a few more episodes to go in season 3A and following that, season 3B will be premiering presumably later this year. There’s a reasoning good chance that we could be watching the end of this season while season 4 is filming, at least if we have our way and the show comes back for more.
