The Flash season 4 will reveal Mystery GIrl’s identity — and more
There’s a good chance that you’ve heard that you will learn the identity of this character (played by Jessica Parker Kennedy) at some point during the season 4 finale. She’s been around now since the Crisis on Earth-X crossover event, so with that in mind it goes without saying we are curious to get some answers here.
What’s a little more interesting now is learning not only the Mystery Girl’s identity in the finale, but you will also have a chance to understand more of their purpose. Here is what executive producer Todd Helbing had to say to Entertainment Weekly:
“You get the question answered as to who she is … There’s actually an extra little bonus where something happens where you’ll realize exactly how she’ll play a part in the future.”
So what does this mean? Basically, it helps to set the stage that Kennedy is going to be a part of season 5 in some shape or form. That was confirmed further by Grant Gustin, who made it clear that this is a plan that has been in the works behind the scenes for a rather long time:
“I’ve known since before we started this season … It’s been the thing that I’ve been most excited about all season, which sounds ridiculous because it’s really a season 5 thing. I’ve spent all of season 4 being excited about this thing that we’re going to do in season 5!”
We’ve heard countless theories about the Mystery Girl’s identity, including that she is Barry Allen’s daughter, granddaughter, or someone else tied to him with powers from the future. We still like the idea that she is actually some sort of villain, mostly because the series doesn’t always tend to follow things directly as they happen in the comics.
