Madam Secretary season 4 episode 19: Are Jason, Piper in danger?

While we know that many episodes feature situations of great international crisis, Madam Secretary season 4 episode 19 is going to shift the focus slightly onto a moment of great personal crisis. After all, we are going to be seeing coming up the characters of Jason and Piper falling off the map in Montreal after accompanying Elizabeth there for a summit. What could’ve turned out to be a fun, innocent visit is now something very different and this is an episode where the Secretary of State’s focus understandably has to be different.

While we’re hoping that Jason and Piper are fine, this episode could have a bit of a mad-dash feel as Elizabeth does her part in order to search for them.

Below, the Madam Secretary season 4 episode 19 synopsis offers up some additional insight when it comes to the story ahead:

“Thin Ice” – Elizabeth is attending a summit in Montreal to resolve territorial claims of the North Pole when an activist group detonates a bomb and she can’t locate Jason and Piper. Also, things take a turn for the worse when Elizabeth learns that Russia was involved in the bombing, and Henry helps one of his students work through a difficult decision, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, April 29 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Anytime that you do mention Russia within a synopsis, there’s obviously going to be some big questions when it comes to how this story ties into whatever is happening in present-day. We can’t imagine that things are going to be any different this time around. What makes things a little more complicated is that we’re dealing with a bomb on Canadian soil, which is something that the country doesn’t exactly seem to be all that involved with in today’s global environment.

As a bit of a geography nerd, we actually are hoping that we see some of the territorial disputes over the North Pole since it does feel as though there could be some interesting content mined out of that.
