The ideal Poldark season 4 premiere dates are…
For the time being, here is what we know for certain — the earliest we foresee the show premiering is Sunday, May 20 given the presence of the Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards the week prior. There’s no feasible way for the network to start things off before then and then air it with some sort of hiatus on May 13.
It is certainly possible that the premiere date will fall alter on the 20th, just because of the fact that Poldark started in June last year and the network could opt to do the same thing time around. Yet, a May premiere would coincidence well with Eleanor Tomlinson’s just-announced album release, and the series could be ready in plenty of time given that filming officially wrapped up pretty early on this year. This was a smaller episode count, so at least in theory it may have been easier to edit than some other editions of the series in the past.
No matter the premiere, we’ve got a feeling that Poldark will very much prove itself to be an excellent show once more well worth the wait. Season 4 features a time jump, and then to go along with that Ross Poldark (Turner) involved more in politics than ever before. The feud with George Warleggan is still very much there and there are other issues also at play. The struggle of Morwenna is not altogether over and when it comes to Demelza, she will still contend with all of the complications that arose at the end of season 3. This (hopefully) will not be the final season of Poldark on the BBC, as Turner has noted in the past that the would like to come back and do one more year.
For readers in America, the plan still appears to be to launch the latest Poldark season in the fall. If that changes over time, we will be sure to let you know.
