How to Get Away with Murder season 5 – Scandal crossovers not planned
The thing that makes How to Get Away with Murder so interesting as a possible venue for more crossovers in the future is that it’s a chance to see the Scandal characters through a different lens. Bringing someone back over on that show wouldn’t be the same as doing a spin-off, and it certainly would not be doing something to alter the original show’s legacy. It’s more of an Easter egg or an opportunity to see if some of these characters can add to the legacy that exists over on the Viola Davis series.
For the time being, though, it seems as though nobody is in all too much of a hurry to make something happen — if it did, it would be a decision made by that show’s creator Pete Nowalk. Speaking (per Entertainment Weekly) in a conference call with reporters, this is an idea that he could be tinkering around with more as we move into the future:
“Whether or not it’s mentioned is up to Pete … That’s his show and his storytelling. I don’t know if he’s ever going to mention it. It’s not a plan that either one of us have. Neither one of us have that in our heads as part of a plan, so thus far, no.”
New episodes of How to Get Away with Murder are going to premiere presumably this fall and the last thing we imagine is for Nowalk to suddenly turn his show into Scandal 2.0. He really doesn’t need to given that he’s got so many other mysteries that he can take on and explore, especially when it comes to a huge cliffhanger that came about at the end of the season 4 finale.
