Chicago Med season 3 episode 18 preview: Natalie faces her worst nightmare
“05/01/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : After a shooting occurs during a block party at a local park, Med is overrun with victims that stretch the hospital and staff to its limits. In the midst of the chaos, Dr. Choi devises a new mass casualty plan on the fly and Dr. Manning struggles to stay focused when she realizes her son and nanny might have been at the scene.”
The next few episodes are going to challenge the Med doctors like never before. In this episode, it will be Dr. Manning who will be put in the spotlight. The Med doctors will be tasked with treating more patients than they can technically handle and that’s not easy. It will involve them trying to juggle multiple patients with multiple injuries. Mistakes can easily happen which means Goodwin will be on the lookout for any mishaps that could put the hospital in jeopardy.
On top of that Dr. Manning will be distracted by the fact that her son (Owen) and his nanny could have been at the park where the shooting took place. That in itself is enough for her to lose all focus since her son is her world. If something were to happen to him, Natalie would never forgive herself. She may be a doctor, but she is first and foremost a mother – not to mention a single mother. We can also expect this to be an internal struggle for her because Natalie is always dedicated to her patients, but it’s her son. She might struggle with whether or not she should leave and check on her son or stay and try and save patients’ lives. We can’t imagine the internal battle that could be raging in her, but we feel that she will make the right decision and that everything will be okay.
This episode will also showcase Ethan’s former military training when he quickly reacts to devising a plan. We are personally excited to see this because I think some fans have forgotten his background and that he did suffer from PSTD. So this episode will be a good chance to really see him take charge and be a leader in a time of chaos.
