Gotham season 4 episode 17 video: The Legion of Horribles

There are many different things that we are excited about when it comes to Gotham season 4 but one of the big ones is this: Seeing many of the top villains in the city actually work together. This goes back to something that we’ve been writing at CarterMatt for ages — if some of these characters all actually worked together for a change there would be a real chance of them causing some carnage.

This seems to be coming on Thursday night’s new episode, at least to some extent. Jerome is trying to bring together many of the most dangerous people in the city and this should prove very troublesome to the GCPD. You know that something is starting to become official when it has a name attached and this now does: The Legion of Horribles.

Does this group want to cause chaos and take over the entire underbelly of the city? Absolutely, but all signs point towards there also being a larger purpose in mind here, as well: Jerome’s attempt to find someone important to him. In between this and some of the constant teases as to who the Joker could be, we imagine that this is something we’re going to get a chance to see by the end of the next episode or two — which is exciting and perfectly-timed given that we’re nearing the end of the season. With it still being unclear as to whether or not we’re going to have a Gotham season 5, it’s better for the show to now use many of the different items in their bag of tricks. Take the risk today since it’s not altogether clear if you are going to be around to take it tomorrow.

Getting a chance to finally see the real Joker is going to be one of potentially many exciting elements the rest of the season, especially if it just so turns out that he is one of the Big Bads. Even if Cameron Monaghan does have another job over on Shameless, what we’re seeing this season is that there are still ways to work around that schedule.
