Bull season 2 episode 18 sneak peek: Sylvia Banner in the courtroom
Who is Sylvia Banner? Aside from being (at least in our mind) a long-long sibling of Dr. Bruce Banner, she is an assistant U.S. Attorney who is going to be a significant adversary to Dr. Jason Bull over the course of this episode. Michael Weatherly’s character chooses within this episode to represent a doctor accused of using unlawful, dangerous practices in order to treat her patients using a marijuana-derived substance, and of carrying it across state lines in order to make it happen. This said doctor is doing what she thinks is best for the purpose of trying to help other people,, but the law ultimately is the law and it’s Banner’s job to prosecute.
To go along with that, she’s also taking the opportunity in court to try and claim that this treatment practice isn’t altogether helpful to patients in the first place. That is why, in the sneak peek below, she brings in as a witness a different doctor in order to decry some of her various techniques. This said doctor does a good job selling his points to the jury, while also going a little bit above and beyond what he really needed to in order to make his point. While the judge tells the jury to ignore some of his testimony, there is a pretty good chance that they are not actually going to do that. Bull’s client is pretty screwed unless he can come up with a good argument. This is some of the stuff that he really excels at, but unfortunately the odds are really stacked against him here. He may find a way, but it will test his skill and resourcefulness more so than almost anything that he’s done to date.
