Instinct, NCIS: Los Angeles, Madam Secretary delayed; when are they on?
Because of March Madness programming airing on CBS, the network confirmed that all of the primetime shows are going to be running about 37 minutes late. That means, for example, that Instinct will airs its premiere starting at 8:37 p.m. Eastern time or an hour before Central. If you are watching on the West Coast, this isn’t going to impact anything at all. Is this frustrating? Absolutely. It’s almost as frustrating as the current state of our March Madness bracket after the past couple of days.
Will this impact the show’s ratings? Well, you can ultimately consider that to be somewhat of a mixed bag. The good news here is that the overrun should lead to a small bump in viewers. Yet, at the same time by the time that Madam Secretary comes around there may be many people going to bed. It probably helps the first two shows on the air, but the third one not so much.

If you are upset about this overrun, just remember this — at least we’re not in the fall, given that this is when there were so many near-constant overruns that it became frustrating to watch many Sunday shows. Just remember that if you are setting your DVRs for some of these shows tonight, be sure to set some extra time. You don’t want to miss any moment, and you also don’t want to miss the start and end of Instinct — it’s a smart, interesting crime procedural that manages to bring something new to a genre of TV that is in some circles tired. Hopefully, these three shows get to be a part of a lineup that lasts for a long time.
