This Is Us: our expectations for the Season 2 finale
For one, a twist. This show is notorious for throwing in twists and turns that make us cry because the writers got it right. Obviously seeing an older Jack at Kate’s wedding is going to throw us for a loop. The writers could be showing us an older version of Jack because it’s his daughter’s wedding and per tradition, the father walks his daughter down the aisle. So Jack appearing as a older man could be Rebecca imaging that Jack was here for the wedding or it could be Kate wishing her father could walk her down the aisle.
Beyond that, we can guess that there will probably be some last minute bumps in the road for Toby and Kate. These two are a great couple and while creator Dan Fogelman teases that this season’s finale will be happier than last season’s, there will be some emotional moments. Will this be before the couple say I do? Could Kate get cold feet? We are leaning more toward the fact that the pair will get married in the end, but we definitely think Kate getting last minute nervous is possible. We say Kate because throughout Toby and Kate’s relationship Toby has always been the one who moves and encourages Kate forward. He’s optimistic, where Kate is more reserved and cautious.
Could it also be emotional for Rebecca because of the moment? In other words, it’s one thing to be the parents of the groom, but when you’re the parents of the bride, it’s even more special. So Rebecca, could be having many different emotions and wishing Jack was there to experience the moment with her. In addition Kevin and Randall could also be having similar emotions. Their sister is getting married and both of them love her so much, so they too are probably wishing the one man who loved her the most could see her on her special day.
Either way, there are so many ways this episode could go tonight and we are very much looking forward to it.
