Big Brother Canada 6 eviction: Who was the first person sent home?

The first Big Brother Canada 6 eviction has come and gone, and this one is both unsurprising but also somewhat painful — after all, we’re losing someone who we thought was a joy before the game.

Rozina Yaqub was sent home from the game in a move that should surprise no one. While we got a slight reprieve from the oldest contestant going home of the season with Karen last season, unfortunately it seems as though Big Brother Canada is now returning to its roots — Rozina follows a trend established by Risha, Suzette, and Paul — three other contestants who also left the game before the jury who were all among the oldest people in the house. (Karen benefited from being the first Head of Household with Sindy’s help — who knows what would have happened in the event that she didn’t do that?)

Unfortunately, this was also a pretty easy eviction to telegraph in that there weren’t all that many candidates for eviction in the first place. After Andrew saved many people in the house there was a pretty limited pool for Head of Household Johnny to choose from — beyond just that, the series made a point of hyping up how Rozina was loud and potentially annoying to a couple of different people into the house. More so than anything, she was the odd person out of the group — it’s a pretty familiar Big Brother week 1 trend, mostly because nobody wants to go home and they’re willing to point the finger at someone else. Often, the target is going to be the person that makes almost everyone else mad.

We’ll miss Rozina, but we feel like she’s the sort of person who is going to move forward and be in high spirits despite being the first person going out.
