Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 13 video: Andy Herrera’s introduction
This sneak peek serves many different purposes but we would say that the biggest one is this: Serving as a proper introduction to the character of Andy Herrera. This is someone who will be the female lead of the firefighter spin-off Station 19 and is being played by Jaina Lee Ortiz of Rosewood fame. She is a character smart, ambitious, and also good at her job. She’s also smart enough to know not to trust the advice of an intern.
The first scene featuring Andy comes when Meredith Grey and the other doctors see her inside an ambulance with her hand literally lodged within someone. Based on all we can tell, Andy’s actions are the only reasons why this person is still alive. She is smart enough

Over the course of this episode you can expect to see Meredith and Andy form a bond. Dr. Grey senses a tenacity in Andy that she recognizes and respects — she may even see a little bit of herself in her. She’s one of the voices in Station 19 that should dominate the action alongside that of Ben Warren (Jason George), who is of course also featured here. Both parties are using this episode to launch the new series, which premieres in proper a little bit later this month. We do think that this scene marks a great introduction, especially since it feels very much like Grey’s Anatomy just with some other characters added. While it almost goes without saying that this is what most fans are going to want from this series, we do still think it’s worth noting.
This episode will of course feature some other characters, but it may take you a little bit of time in order to see and meet most of them. For now, just consider this episode your worthy jumping-off point; in between this and the lead-in that it will have throughout the season, Station 19 feels pretty much set.
