TV Revivals final results: Did Hannibal or White Collar win in the end?
The final results are in for the TV Revivals tournament this year, and we really have to give all the credit in the world to some of the fans of both Hannibal and White Collar. This was one of the closest, most competitive polls that we’ve seen over the past couple of years at the site. The lead had some real drama to it and there were times when we certainly did not know precisely who was going to emerge victorious.
Congratulations to fans of both shows on their effort — this level of fandom alone serves as yet another reminder as to why these two shows both need to be brought back. The same goes for Dark Matter, which finished in third place this year.
In the end, though, only one show could win — and that show is Hannibal. The former NBC series received tens of thousands of votes and that was enough to take home the title this year. Fannibals are a passionate bunch — we’ve known that for years, but the victory this time around is more validation of that than ever before. It’s pretty clear that this is a crew who would promote the heck out of a fourth season / a TV movie if it were to ever happen. We do still want to think that it will; the interest seems to be there and now it’s really all about finding the right platform to continue the series. If you missed it, we recently shared some of our thoughts as to why it feels like basic cable may be the best possible destination now for Hannibal — there are a few networks out there in need of a boost and it could get a little bit edgier on an FX or an AMC without having to fundamentally change the series that it is.
Rest assured, we will keep you posted the moment that there is more Hannibal news. As for our next CarterMatt poll series, the annual TV Madness series will be returning soon for the month of March — alas, this poll only contains shows currently on the air. Maybe Hannibal can take part in the future.
