Homeland season 7 episode 4 preview: Everything gets worse for Saul
The Homeland season 7 episode 4 synopsis gives you a tiny hint of that: “Carrie follows a lead. Saul’s situation goes from bad to worse.”
At a certain point we do wonder why Showtime even bothers releasing synopses if that is all they are saying. What’s the whole point of it all? You’re not giving that much away. Nonetheless, we suppose it’s important to note that Carrie is making progress and isn’t just spiraling. Meanwhile, the same goes for knowing what sort of position that Saul is in.
By the end of the episode, maybe we will be in a better position to offer some more insight one way or another.
The latest season 7 ratings
Where is Homeland season 7 right now when it comes to the numbers? They are still solid, though in terms of live+same-day viewers the series is down at present from where it was for season 6.
Last week’s episode 2 drew in total 1.12 million live viewers, which is a drop from the week before — that’s hardly a surprise, given that for the most part shows do tend to fall from one season to the next. So far, season 7 is averaging about 1.17 million live viewers, down about 8% in total versus last year. That’s a reasonable decrease, and for Showtime in general there isn’t that much to be concerned about given that Homeland does already have an official season 8 renewal. The larger issue that this series needs to deal with is one related more or less to if it ends up wanting a season 9 beyond that.
Ultimately, we just like to follow the numbers for the fun of it — it’s always interesting to see where a show this far into its run is in its modern-day relevancy.
