Are Celebrity Big Brother season 2 odds hurt by all the quitting?
It’s easy to get caught up in some of the frustrations at the moment, especially when you think about the aftermath of seeing Metta World Peace effectively quit the game. Metta is the second celebrity in the first four to leave largely under their own accord; the irony here is that people love him and there was a reasonably good chance that he could’ve actually won the game if he stuck around. He may have threatened to quit the game before but there were people in the game who still liked him. With this season not being altogether heavy on all of the strategy, it’s really hard to necessarily way what people are going to be voting based on at the end.
The ratings for Celebrity Big Brother have been fairly decent given the competition; with that, we really just think that scheduling is the biggest thing that could hold the series back. If CBS was to do another season they’d have to most-likely schedule it in January unless they were to wait four years and then do one against the next Winter Olympics. They can’t really do it at any other point without messing up the CBS schedule in a really big way.
We foresee CBS weighing more the willingness of celebrities and their own schedule needs when making a decision on the future of the series. For now, we’re reasonably optimistic that there will be more of the show and you just have to hope that there will be more celebrities willing to play — it’s just a hard thing to predict since it’s hard to know how to react unless you are actually in the house.
