Why iZombie, Jane the Virgin, Legends of Tomorrow are perfect CW Sunday night contenders

As you may have heard, The CW is plotting out some rather big changes moving into the upcoming season! For the first time in more than a decade, you are going to be seeing the network program on Sunday nights. That is exciting, especially when you think about how many more programs the network can show and also the audiences that they can attract. We’re getting set to have the busiest schedule for The CW to date — is it too much TV? Maybe for some, but we like to think that most American viewers appreciate variety.

For the time being, though, the question that we have is a fairly simple one: Which shows are going to benefit from the move the most? If you look below, you can see to be specific a list of four different shows that could be more successful if they carve out a spot on Sunday nights in the fall.

iZombie – It just makes sense to move the Rose McIver series to a night where it could actually start off in the fall as opposed to late in the spring. So long as it didn’t air opposite The Walking Dead (zombies vs. zombies is never a great idea), there could still be something there.

The 100 – If you didn’t want to air iZombie on Sundays because of The Walking Dead and its presence, there’s also a good argument to be made here if The 100 gets a chance to come back for another season. We absolutely know that some of the enthusiasm is there.

Legends of Tomorrow – For really the entirety of its run the superhero show has bounced around to different timeslots. If it airs here, what that would offer is a brilliant opportunity to stand on its own two feet and build more of a consistent following for a change.

Jane the Virgin – This would just be a move to get the show off of Fridays and to a night where more of its audience could be around. Also, there isn’t a lot of lighthearted programming on Sundays and this could offer up a chance to appeal to viewers who are looking for something different.

What shows do you think would fit in well to The CW’s Sunday plans? Be sure to share now in the comments!
