The Flash season 4 episode 15: Violett Beane, John Wesley Shipp returning
On Tuesday, March 6, the two actors are going to be coming back as Jesse Quick and Jay Garrick for what is going to be a very different sort of episode in “Enter Flashtime.” This episode will take a familiar concept from the comic books (for those familiar with it), as the speedsters all move so quickly it appears almost as though time stands still. Given what these two characters and Barry Allen are up against, there is a very clear reason why three speedsters are needed. The Flash season 4 episode 15 synopsis offers more insight:
JESSE QUICK AND JAY GARRICK TEAM UP WITH THE FLASH — When a nuclear bomb detonates in downtown Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp) slow down time by entering Flashtime. As everyone in the city is frozen, the three speedsters push themselves to the breaking point to save the city and everyone in it. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Sterling Gates (#415). Original airdate 3/6/2018.
Obviously, it’s a thrill to get both Beane and Garrick back; beyond that, this should be entertaining just because all three likely have their own experiences being speedsters that they can pull from. Jesse is still relatively new to the speedster world, but she’s probably been making up for lost time while she was away. Meanwhile, it’s already pretty well-known that Jay is one of the most-accomplished speedsters in the multiverse; as long as he’s not stuck somewhere trapped in an iron mask, he’s saving lives and doing what he can to help others.
Hopefully, all three characters make it out of the episode alive, given that it would be incredibly depressing to see another character played by Shipp get killed off. It’s still hard to get over what happened to Henry Allen.
