Ink Master season 10 episode 6 video: Under-the-chin tattoos
In this sneak peek, you can see that for the first part of this episode (airing on the Paramount Network Tuesday), there is once again not going to be a flash challenge. Instead, what we’re going to be getting is another challenge where the Masters square off against each other. We do like Anthony Michaels, DJ Tambe, and Steve Teff very much as artists, but that doesn’t altogether change our viewpoint that we’d rather see at this point the artists all face off against one another rather than having their coaches do so. These guys already have shown that they have what it takes to win!
Anyhow, the judges did at least give the three a really tough challenge here: Doing under-the-chink tattoos as a means of testing adaptability. This is not an easy spot to tattoo since there are only so many people who are willing to get this done. Getting this tattoo basically means that there are certain career paths you just can’t go down before there are people who won’t hire you. Beyond just that, this is not an easy tattoo for artists to apply since you’re dealing with everything from pain to loose skin.
So how did the three judges do in this challenge? As you would expect all things considered, there weren’t any flops in the group, though we of course like some art better than others. Steve’s, while great technically, is really in the same pool of many other tattoos we’ve seen in the past. Skulls and roses just don’t get us all that excited. We don’t really get the concept for DJ’s that much, but it’s probably the prettiest one to look at. Anthony’s is almost the Goldilocks of the three in that it’s just wright — it’s pretty to look at and we also understand just what it’s supposed to be.
As for who wins, you’ll find out on Tuesday! We wouldn’t be shocked if DJ gets it just it is so visually striking and is the cleanest tattoo of the three.
