Top Chef: Colorado episode 10 preview: Scary desserts
If you want to get a little more insight as to what this challenge is, take a look at the Top Chef: Colorado episode 10 synopsis below:
With their Quickfire set at the iconic Stanley Hotel, the inspiration site for Stephen King’s “The Shining,” the chefs must put their scariest nightmares on a plate…in dessert form! Then, with their time in Denver coming to a close, the chefs offer a dish representing their own Colorado journeys thus far to Governor John Hickenlooper at the Governor’s mansion. One chef will be sent packing before the rest of the group heads to Telluride. Other guests critiquing the journey dinner include some of the most acclaimed chefs in Denver: Frank Bonanno, Steve Redzikowski and Tommy Lee.
We love the fact that this Quickfire is themed around desserts given that there really aren’t too many opportunities to see that over a season. Also, having some sort of artistic theme encourages the chefs to think outside the box and be tested in some ways that we haven’t seen them tested before. The sneak peek below features Joe trying to get his dessert together in time — he is worried about the ice cream making it to the judges without falling apart.
As for the second part of the episode, it’s nice to see that we are starting to head elsewhere in Colorado beyond the Denver area — after all, wasn’t that set up going into the season? Telluride is one of the hippest resort towns in all of Colorado and we have a feeling that good food is a top priority for the residents living there.

We do think at the moment it’s still anybody’s game, but we would not be shocked if Carrie and Chris are the two chefs competing for the title at the very end of this.
