Absentia season 2 premiere date: When should it stream on Amazon?
Patience. If there is one word to describe the future of the Stana Katic series, that is it. While there are reports out there that a second season is coming, filming has yet to officially transpire. The impetus this week has been on promoting the first season of the show for Amazon; before that, it was promoting it airing on Showcase up in Canada. Maybe on the other side of this we can see production officially kick off soon in Bulgaria, which is where filming for the first season took place.
Ultimately, though, it may be a little too early to say for certain just what the future holds for Absentia in terms of its story — the last thing we’re going to do in this article is try and spoil the events of the first season. That ruins all the fun!
Our hope is that an Absentia season 2 premiere date will be named for at some point in 2019, at least in North America. Maybe it arrives earlier in some other territories for AXN, but the reality here remains that the first season was already filming at this point in the year in 2017.

Obviously, the challenge for this show is simply going to be trying to up the ante from whatever is in the first season. For shows that are this serialized and tell this sort of specific narrative, trying to find a way to top it can be challenging.
For the time being, let’s just hope that there are plenty of viewers in America who check out Absentia tomorrow — we certainly think that it’s possible that viewers will be able to get through the entire first season before the Super Bowl rolls around on Sunday … in the event they are especially antsy to check out the remaining episodes.
One more thing to note
On Friday, we’re going to start publishing the remainder of our Absentia season 1 episode reviews. They’ll be posted in sequential order, so be sure to check them out at your own leisure.
