Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 9 preview: Jane and Rafael’s decision

When Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 9 airs on The CW next week, one of the things that you’re going to see is a key decision — to be specific, a key life-changing decision. What Jane and Rafael decide in this installment could alter the course of the rest of their lives. Both of these characters realize that there are feelings; yet, they also realize that they can’t just think about themselves and that neither one of them is so young anymore. They need to really assess where they are in life as well as where they want to be. Some of these decisions should be at the heart of the story that is coming up.

Below, the Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 9 synopsis does a good job of presenting some of the stories that you can expect to see, whether it be for Jane and Rafael or some of the other characters:

DOING THE RIGHT THING – When Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) realize that the uncertain state of their relationship is stressing out Mateo, they decide that they need to make a decision. Petra (Yael Grobglas) is on the outs with Jane and Rafael after the Luisa fiasco so she tries to figure out a way to get back into their good graces. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Xo (Andrea Navedo) are both contemplating their career choices. Ivonne Coll also stars. Eric Lea directed the episode written by Valentina Garza & Chantelle M. Wells (#409). Original airdate 2/2/2018.

There’s going to be a lot of curious moments within this episode, including learning how Petra adapts to Jane and Rafael’s circumstances and if she can find a way to win the two over. There are also some questions regarding viewership. Tonight’s Jane the Virgin episode is the first episode in a long time and we’d argue that this is a series that needs to maintain whatever sort of audience that it can. Without that, you do run a risk that it’s not going to find the viewership that it needs.
