Charmed reboot ordered at the CW
According to Variety, the original series centered on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches is looking to be coming back. The three sisters were known as the Charmed Ones who agreed to use their magic to fight evil. The Charmed reboot was originally announced last year, but was changed to this year. In addition, the original series ran for 8 seasons and was set during the 1970’s, but the reboot will take place during present day. By having this shake up, it allows for the possibility for new series regulars and new stories to be told, in addition, to seeing what our favorite witches have been up after all this time.
If fans will recall, the series starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan. However, star Holly Marie Combs tweeted a suspicious message giving fans the impression that she will not be returning. We aren’t sure if this is her official exit from the reboot, but from the looks of is we may be missing one of its original cast members. Many fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment. Will the reboot still go ahead? Probably, but we understand that many people want the whole original cast. The “Charmed” alum tweeted a simple yet gracious, “We wish them well. #Charmed.”
Charmed is the latest the show to get a rebirth. Fans have been wanting a reboot for awhile now, especially after other fan favorites like Roseanne and Will & Grace got the green light from ABC and NBC, respectively. Now fans have gotten their wish, but it will have a new story details. The network released a description of the reboot.
“This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”
