The Resident episode 3 preview: Explore more of Conrad’s history

Resident episode 3

When The Resident episode 3 airs on Fox in one week’s time, you’re going to have a pretty great opportunity to both see and understand some of the characters better. Take for example, Conrad. Based on what we’ve seen so far, this is a man who comes across as being a very arrogant, confident doctor. He knows what he is doing while taking care of patients and allows that to go to his head. Where does some of this inflated personality come from? That’s something that next week’s new episode, entitled “Comrades in Arms,” could help to illuminate a little bit more as we meet some of the people who are responsible for helping to shape him and turn him into the human being that he is today because of some of the military history that’s going to be explored over the hour.

Beyond just Conrad, we are going to see the other doctors take part in some big storylines themselves. The synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below has a little more insight in terms of what’s ahead:

An old army buddy and fellow surgeon (guest star Warren Christie) visits Conrad at the hospital. Meanwhile, the team is put to the test when they have to save the life of an uninsured and undocumented patient, while simultaneously battling the hospital’s administrators, who fear the patient will cost millions. Also, Dr. Bell experiments with a new medication for his tremor and Nic swears to investigate the mystery surrounding missing medical records in the all-new “Comrades in Arms” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Jan. 29 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The story for Dr. Bell in particular is important, given that it traces back to the pilot that aired on Sunday night. We’re seeing a doctor who is nearing the end of his career, and is trying to find ways to stay relevant and to also be successful in his field. He has tried to hide the tremor as best as he can using medication, but eventually he will come to a point where he is not able to do that. He is grasping at straws and lashing out at times to anyone who starts to question what he is doing. He wants to keep whatever sort of element of authority that he possibly can.

As for Nic, let’s just say that we wish her luck. It’s going to be a lot harder for her to achieve her goal of finding out what happened to these records then she probably thinks. We have already come to know that there are some people with questionable stances on morality.
