Is Jack dying on This Is Us

Is Jack dying on This Is Us next week? Without even giving any more details about what’s coming up / spoilers from tonight’s new episode “Clooney,” there are some reasons to be rather worried about that … starting with the episode title of “That’ll Be the Day.” This is well-known as a Buddy Holly song, one that includes the line “that’ll be the day when I die.”

So, it’s pretty fair to say that we’re worried about Jack on This Is Us season 2 episode 13. The end of this character may be coming in the relatively-distant future and we have to figure out a way in which to prepare for that. We know that it’s coming at some point this season — for a long time we felt like it would be in the Super Bowl episode (maximum viewers), but we may have pushed our prediction back one episode too late. Maybe we’re reading too much into this episode title … or maybe we’re reading just enough.

Below, you can get some more details courtesy of our This Is Us season 2 episode 13 synopsis right now:

01/23/2018 (09:00PM – 10:01PM) (Tuesday) : Kevin helps Randall and Beth with a project. Kate contemplates a big gift for Toby. Jack and Rebecca talk about their future.

There isn’t too much in here that we would claim as some sort of massive clue, not that this shocks us. Why in the world would This Is Us want to give anything major away regarding their story in advance? There’s no real reason for them to want to do that … other than, of course, giving away a possible clue in a title.

Here’s the one thing we’re worried about after tonight’s episode: The new construction job that Jack is looking to start. It’s so easy to see how something bad could happen here. Also, the promo very much hints that there is a big day that is coming — maybe that’s just the Super Bowl, or maybe it’s something tragic that will leave us bawling our eyes out.
