TV Underdogs: How can Criminal Minds season 13 use Luke Alvez more?
Do we still want to see more of Luke Alvez than we are? Absolutely, which is precisely why we have made him the focus of our latest TV Underdogs feature. If you look below, you can get a little more insight in terms of how to make him an even bigger part of the story coming up.
1. Give us more of his family history – We know that we don’t get a lot of that with Criminal Minds but we like to think that it takes a very particular upbringing to want to work within this particular branch of the FBI. What was that like for Luke? We’re absolutely interested in learning a little more information on that subject! Maybe you have it come via flashbacks, or maybe you have it come via exposition.
2. Build some of his personal relationships – We love episodes of Criminal Minds where one character gets a chance to spend a lot of time with one other person, even if it is under perilous circumstances. We hope that we’ll get a chance to see him isolated with a character like JJ, Simmons, or someone else. It’s bonding … even if it’s a dangerous sort of bond.
3. Find his trigger – Could Alvez meet an UnSub who causes him to think of his own past, and does he have a breaking point? We want to see what it looks like when this character starts to lose his cool and get vulnerable. Does he explode in anger or become someone we haven’t seen before? These are questions that we would love to see answered.

4. Finally, show us some of his training – How does Alvez prepare for a day of work? How does he cool off after being in a violent showdown? Sometimes, it’s the little conversations that can give you the most insight into someone.
We do think that Alvez has a lot more to show on Criminal Minds; we hope that season 13 offers up more opportunities to showcase some of hem.
