New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey 2018: Start time, performers, more
Are you ready for New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey 2018? We’re certainly intrigued by what Harvey will bring to the broadcast, though we also do have to say that there’s a certain degree of uncertainty to it. This is the first year that Harvey has been part of a New Year’s Eve special from Times Square; if you recall, in the past Fox aired a broadcast from Miami with Pitbull as the star. Mr. Worldwide is taking his talents elsewhere, which means that there was room for the Family Feud host / Miss Universe flub-master to take the reigns instead.
Does it make sense to have Harvey host the show? Probably, given that he is one of the biggest under-the-radar stars in television. The joke made on Saturday Night Live about him being on “every waiting room in America” during the day isn’t that far off — he’s got his self-titled talk show to go along with the aforementioned game show, and he’s even got some primetime hits with Little Big Shots over at NBC. He’s everywhere, but the real question that we wonder at the moment is whether or not viewers will flock to him in late-night the same way that they did in daytime.
Since we don’t have all that much of an indicator as to what his show is going to look like when it comes on the air, let’s rely in part on what Fox has to say in the attached synopsis CarterMatt has for you below:
In his first-ever New Year Eve’s special with FOX, Harvey will bring his signature humor and hosting talents to this highly anticipated celebration taking place in the heart of New York City’s Times Square, featuring views of the Times Square Ball as it drops to ring in 2018. Harvey will be joined by surprise celebrity guests and some of the year’s top music artists to wrap up 2017 and kick off the New Year with a show unlike any other.
Some of the performers who are set to appear in some form (they’re not necessarily live) include Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Macklemore featuring Skylar Gray, Flo Rida and Neil Diamond. Basically, you’ve got some Las Vegas famed mixed with a few other current stars.
One more question: Is Harvey’s mustache going to freeze off in the subzero temperatures tonight? The show begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, and after a break at 10:00 for local news will return later in the night to wrap things up at 11:00.
