Top Chef: Colorado episode 5 preview: Fatima Ali hates camping
Judging from the sneak peek below, though, we’ve learned of one thing that Fatima isn’t quite a fan of: Camping. To be fair, we understand why. Judging from what we saw in the preview for Thursday night’s new episode at the conclusion of Thursday’s episode, it appears as though the remaining chefs are going to be forced to trek out to the middle of the snowy wilderness of Colorado. There are probably about 300 places we’d rather be than in the cold camping. There’s just not a whole lot of a perceived benefit in going there unless you, for whatever reason, really enjoy freezing and/or having to cook in the elements.
Here’s the irony — in being out in these elements it’s easy to understand why someone like Fatima could cook some of her best food of the season. When you’re outside of your comfort zone as a person, you can’t rely on any of the typical stuff you do in the real world. It forces you to think outside of yourself a little bit and get creative. We think there could be some surprise inspiration that comes from this — who knows, maybe winning a camping-related challenge could inspire a love of being outdoors? Okay, or not … we’d just take the win and head home.
We’ll see how this episode plays out on Bravo in the new year. (Speaking of which, Happy New Year, Top Chef fans! Have some good food — after making it through 2017, we’ve got a good feeling that all of you deserve it.)
