Hugh Dancy on board for Hannibal season 4 if it happens

Are we one step closer to Hannibal season 4 happening? While we wouldn’t go that far, we can say that Hugh Dancy remains firmly on board to continuing the series.

Speaking in a new interview with Red Carpet Report while at the Paley Center for Media promoting The Path, Dancy made it clear that he 100% would be back in the event that Bryan Fuller manages to get a story together for the fourth season of the show. Granted, there are still some hurdles to jump through before Fuller can even begin work on the show, including Hannibal finding either a new network home or distributor who is willing to continue the story. NBC canceled the show years ago and since that time, we’ve mostly seen things at a standstill with us wondering if there’s going to be a way to ever get more of the series. We absolutely hope that there is, but we never want to be aggressively confident in fear of it not happening and being disappointed on the other side.

As you can also see in the Twitter post below from @Yes2Moongoose, Dancy offered more thoughts on the series’ future inside the event! The actor noted that the movement for more Hannibal is building momentum and is grateful for fans’ undying support.

While it was known that both Dancy and his co-star Mads Mikkelsen were open to more Hannibal well before this new appearance at the Paley Center by Hugh, isn’t it still nice to have words of affirmation every now and then? Dancy’s commitment to continuing the story of Will Graham is astounding and very much appreciated. Hannibal is a work of visual beauty and one of the most creative adaptations in recent TV history. To lose it before the Silence of the Lambs era truly began would be an utter travesty. We have to believe that someone out there would be interested in giving this show another life.

With that, keep campaigning, keep your fingers crossed, and we’ll keep providing updates as we get them. Hopefully there’ll be something more to report in the new year.
