When should Timeless season 2 premiere date be announced?

If you’re interested in getting a Timeless season 2 premiere date announcement, rest assured that you’re not alone.  We’ve known about the NBC returning now for the better part of the past seven months — that’s a long time! Unfortunately, there are still more than likely a number of months to go.

You can go ahead and forget about Timeless season 2 premiering before March 4. That’s when the 2018 Academy Awards are airing on ABC and there’s a zero percent change NBC wants their once-temporarily-canceled show to have to air against that. They’re also not going to air them around the Olympics in February. Their content is already mapped out there. Sunday, March 11 would be a great time for the new season given that there is room for it in the schedule there — not only that, but it’s not like there are too many spots opening up anywhere else in the midseason schedule. Most of that is already mapped out at this point save for what happens following the end of This Is Us on Tuesday night.

We feel like we’ve already done a lot of articles surrounding when Timeless season 2 could possibly premiere — including one for in the summer! Here, it’s a little more interesting to pose this question: When could the premiere date be announced? There are a few different possibilities that NBC should consider.

1. During the Super Bowl – NBC has the biggest TV even of the year in early February, so why not take advantage of that moment to share a new season 2 premiere date and hype up the show coming back on the air then? This probably only works if Timeless is coming back in the spring, but that’s what we would prefer as an impatient person, anyway.

2. During the Winter Olympics – Hey, it’s another great time to announce it! It also gives NBC a little more time in order to determine the optimal premiere date given that it runs mostly throughout the entire month.

3. During the TCA Winter Press Tour – NBC Universal will be making a presentation there on January 10, and this is the perfect chance to bring out some cast members and talk more about the little show that could.
