The Bachelor spotlight: Meet Brittany Taylor, Austin resident

Brittany Taylor is one of those contestants on The Bachelor that you really can’t find out all that much about when looking strictly at her bio — she doesn’t give a whole lot of information away in there and comes off as decidedly normal. She likes Hillary Clinton and Beyonce, she likes ramen and sushi, and she’s had trouble in dating. She notes that the last two guys she’s dated she met through dating apps and they were, by and large, terrible people.

Now, there are a couple different reasons why we think that Brittany could be an interesting inclusion to Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season that you have to read in between the lines to see.

1. She’s one of the older contestants – Yes, we’re in an odd world where 30 on The Bachelor is considered old, but that is where we are. We always want to root for the older contestants just because they tend to have a much better understanding of what relationships are. They also know themselves well and will be able to put the Bachelor in check.

2. She lives in Austin – By far, we consider Austin one of the coolest cities in the entire country. It’s a place with a lot of culture and personality, and we think that being around so many interesting groups of people works well on The Bachelor. You’re not some fish out of water who hasn’t been exposed to life before.

How will she do this season? – Brittany seems like one of those people Arie should pick since she’s smart and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. In our head she should make it to at least the top eight or so. Yet, we don’t have a lot of faith in Arie to make all of the right decisions along the way this season. She’ll probably go home earlier than she should.
