Scorpion season 4 episode 12 photo: Walter’s alternate universe girlfriend
We suppose that there are a couple of different explanations as to what is going on here:
1. This is Alternate Universe Walter – One of the big themes for this episode is going to be examining what happens in the event that Team Scorpion never existed. Maybe in this universe Walter managed to get into a relationship with Florence, something that we feel would never happen in the real world based on their dynamic. We haven’t exactly seen a whole lot of romantic chemistry there.
2. Or … is there some sort of secret chemistry? – Is Florence secretly interested in Walter? It’s possible, but we have a hard time seeing it. She knows that Walter is with Paige and she hasn’t quite struck us as the sort of character who would swoop in and try to make a move on him, knowing that it wouldn’t be reciprocated.
Basically, don’t think of this kiss as anything serious that is going to jeopardize the Paige and Walter relationship. It’s probably not canon and, to go along with it, probably not something that is going to matter all that much in the long run. This episode is largely going to be all about Walter realizing just how valuable his team is — and, in turn, precisely how important Paige is to him. We don’t necessarily think that he takes the team for granted all of the time, but we have a feeling that he does focus on the wrong thing from time to time. That includes allowing work to supersede spending time with his friends and loved ones. The story in the episode is going to kick off when Walter chooses a job over some holiday festivities.
New episodes of Scorpion, (following this one), will begin airing in the new year.
