Sneaky Pete season 2 teaser: The next job (but no premiere date)
Earlier this fall, the Amazon series starring Giovanni Ribisi, and Margo Martindale officially wrapped filming, and late last week the streaming service released a new official teaser introduced by Ribisi and executive producer Bryan Cranston. (Isn’t everything better when Cranston introduces it?)
In this new clip you get a small sense as the latest job, one that seems insurmountable — it’s all about making the impossible possible, which is the perfect job for this cast of characters. There are no major story points teased. Instead, it’s just a series of different moments and action sequences to remind you of some of the characters and of the show’s overall tone.
Sneaky Pete is in some ways the heir apparent to White Collar, another great show that looked at a specific angle of the criminal world. It’s almost perfect that it is coming out next year given that it’ll fill the void left by the finale of Good Behavior — these two shows tonally have quite a few similarities themselves, with multiple identities and complicated operations being a part of the world you see on a near-regular basis.
Could Sneaky Pete get a bigger audience this time around?
We hope so. Amazon doesn’t release their ratings publicly but we feel like some of their original series, (including this one) are in need of a bigger platform and support. There is a lot of mainstream appeal here, which probably helps to explain why Sneaky Pete was originally developed for network television. If more viewers had a chance to learn about it they’d find that it is reminiscent of some of their old favorites while bringing a distinctive edge to the table.
Also, Ribisi is fantastic as Marius. It’s high time that he had a chance to lead a show like this that allows him to do so many different things.
