Lucifer season 3 episode 11 spoilers: The Lucifer – Cain dynamic ahead

While Lucifer season 3 episode 11 airs on Fox January 1, there is a chance that you’ll get to know Lucifer and Cain so much better. During the fall finale, Cain was revealed to be none other than Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling), the man who has been around for the entirety of the season. He’s the world’s first murderer, a man with hidden agendas and many grudges. He seemed to be responsible for bringing the Sinnerman on board, but it certainly feels as though the Sinnerman’s plan eventually ended up veering off-course and becoming something different from what it was originally intended to be.

So now that Lucifer knows the truth about this guy, what happens next? What makes the upcoming episodes so entertaining is that they are not going to play out quite like you would expect for them to. We’ll see the show veer into a few surprising directions as Lucifer and Cain start to realize that, despite their very-clear differences, they do have a couple of things in common.

Speaking on this matter to TVLine, series star Tom Ellis had the following to pass along:

“Lucifer threatens to tell everyone who Pierce is, and Pierce is like, “Good luck with that. You can’t even get them to believe you’re the devil!” Lucifer is a bit stuck with this knowledge, but then he decides to use Pierce to get back at Dad. Cain makes a deal with the devil, and that drives the first half of the next part of the season onwards. Lucifer’s goal is to get back at his dad and get rid of his wings, and Cain’s biggest desire is to die.  Lucifer decides he’s going to help him do that and defy his father by lifting the curse somehow. They have this kind of strange bromance for a few episodes.”

Eventually, though, you have to think that this is all going to go off the rails! It Cain determines that Lucifer can’t help him die, could he determine that he’s not really worth the trouble anymore? This relationship could crumble by the time you make it a few more episodes into the season. They’re both powerful, ancient forces of nature — with that, it’s fair to think we are building towards a showdown.
