The Gifted episode 11 return date hopes for Amy Acker, cast

Fox has officially confirmed when the series starring Amy Acker and Stephen Moyer will return, and it’ll be back January 1. The Gifted season 1 has 13 episodes to it, and it’s been confirmed already that the upcoming two-hour finale is set for Monday, January 15. If that finale only counts as one episode in the order, then it makes sense that January 1st would be the return date. It’s not like there is all that much in the way of flexibility here for the show. Fox is starting up The Resident in late January in the show’s old timeslot and that is one of the reasons to rush to get some new episodes of the show on the air sooner rather than later.

We’re not going to complain about getting more of The Gifted soon, given that we are discussing a smart, socially-conscious series that just so happens to exist within a superhero universe. These are things that do not always go hand in hand but the writers do a good job of making these characters feel human, really regardless of any of the various trials and tribulations that they go through. The Gifted offers up some hope that people can persevere despite whatever differences they may be bringing to the table.

These final episodes of The Gifted are more than likely going to teach us a great deal — not just about where the story is going this season, but also as to the show’s season 2 future. For now, we’d consider this a show firmly on the bubble, one that is doing a number of smart things creatively but still needs to lock in a greater audience. This is a show averaging a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic — that may be better than some of Fox’s scripted series, but it’s not so great that it guarantees a season 2. Fox could wait a while before making their final decision clear.
