MacGyver season 2 winter finale: The arrest you never want to see
As you can see in the new promo below the impromptu Christmas celebration for Angus and the rest of the Phoenix Foundation crew is going to find itself interrupted, mostly because there is someone, unfortunately, coming to put MacGyver in handcuffs. We reported previously that this character is played by Bruce McGill, who played Jack Dalton on the original version of the show, and that he is charging our hero here with terrorism.
As a direct result of this, it’s going to become the mission of Mac’s friends — including the new Jack Dalton (George Eads) — to try and figure out precisely what happened here and to ensure that his name is cleared. We don’t think that we really need to tell most of you reading this article that Mac is innocent and this arrest is probably the inner workings of some other character — potentially Murdoc, who’s been quiet for a little while now after first surfacing a little earlier this season. This is a character who likes to strike when it is least expected, so what better time is there to strike than around Christmas? Everyone is just in the process of trying to ring in the holiday and be happy — as a result of that, the majority of people have their guard down and are not quite focusing on anything else.
Let’s just hope that for MacGyver’s sake — and also potentially our own sake (we don’t want to be too stressed out over the holidays!) — Mac manages to find a way to be safe and secure at the end of the episode. Otherwise, you are going to be stuck waiting a few weeks until the show returns (most likely in January) for some more answers. If Mac can find himself on the other side of the arrest, he can focus more on what matters — taking down some bad guys plus continuing in his search for his father.
